hello ive got dm800 clone using dream elite image bootloader 82
when i try and use usals in simple menu and poitioner i enter the correct co-ordinates but the dish doesnt find the correct satellite, its about 7degrees out to the east so if i choose hotbird 13east it goes to about 20east,my dish is aligned correctly for 1west with maximum signal on most sats if i tune the motor manually.

every time i flash the box ive got to re tune about 20 sats and its a pain i would like to use usals if i could get it to work.im located in northeast england near to sunderland if that helps.

thanks.

You sure your entering your coordinates correctly and have you checked the coordinates you have used on other site to see if there the same ?

I would go into advanced menu for setup and check that it says use usals for this satellite (yes) on every satellite you have programmed in.

Have you entered them correctly like this as a example

Your longitude is 1.786786 so you enter 001.786.

Your latitude is 54.989432 so you enter 054.989

If you have a minus figure then you set that as WEST

try subtracting 7degrees to the east setting.

I am in Malta 14E 35N and have to set mine to 19E 35N and all works

When you are not using USALS you do not have to retune satellites every time you flash your box if you backup your system settings in the Set up>/Software management menu. Then you can restore after flashing. But I would copy the Satellite positions from the second page in the Tuner Config menu so if this does not work you can always enter them again after flashing and you do not have to physically search satellites again.
On the other hand if you want to use USALS you have to make sure that the motor's '0' position is properly set(When on 1W motor should be very close to this position). You reset by moving motor to '0' by using the manual button/s on it. Then follow your motor's instruction manual and perform the reset. Please note that performing a reset will erase all your saved positions from the motor's memory so if you are not using USALS you will have to physically search satellites again.
