Hi guys..

A m8 of mine said that his dm800 just suddenly stopped working.. He has his own $ky card..

He asked me to have a look at it.. but it has me baffled..

I tried flashing it the normal way via the browser.. but it will not display any anything on the screen except Dream Multimedia..

I have also tried with dreamup.. but all i get in that is after "uploading flash loader" is " initializing HTTP mode " and just hangs on this for as long as i leave it..

Anyone every seen this before.. or know how to fix it.. ??

Thanks for your replies..

If it sticks on Dream Multimedia while booting that can mean a hardware fault, first thing id try is remove the tuner flash a image via dreamup with serial yeah takes forever if it then reboots its the tuner.

Maybe the sim-card is loose?
She sits behind the display on the Main board.
Under light pressure again test.
If it goes, properly fasten.

Hi buddy.. Thanks for reply..

Checked the sim and all was ok..
I even took the sim out of another 800 to see if that would make a difference.. But just the same out-come..

I have also tried different versions of dreamup to see if that helped.. but still nothing..

anyone else got any other suggestions please.. ??

thanks

untick the use network box, click on connect then insert the power cable, make sure you have selected the correct com port, are you using a com port or usb to null modem, i have seen people run into trouble using this type of cable.

Hi Brummie..
Thanks for your reply..
Yes.. " Use Network " is unticked and im using a null cable.. not usb..
Also using com port 1 which is correct..

I have now got a little further.. but not alot.. used a patched version of dreamup and it went past the initialing HTTP mode..
It now hangs on calculating checksum.. and goes no further..
It will allow me to go to where i can pick the image i want to install.. but just hangs on calculating checksum..

Please can you think of anything else.. ??

Thanks guys for all your help so far..

Thanks again Brummie for your reply..

I have used the enforcer with the patched version and still nothing.. Still just hanging on calculating checksum..

Also tried with version 1.3.3.0 and still the same outcome..

Im ready to put this in the bin now.. lmao..

Dont think my buddy would be too impressed if i did.. lol

Is there anything i can do with flash-wizard.. ???

Have not used it in years.. so maybe need a crash course in that.. lol

when you press connect do you see serial mode on the led screen on the front and an ip address, if so put that ip into your url and you should get the flashing page and flash it through your browser, make sure you have use network box ticked.

Hi Brummie..

No ip addy is displayed when i hold in the pwer button when inserting the power cable..

Also.. It does not display serial mode when i click connect..

The only thing it displays is the Dream Multimedia logo..

Thanks

if your seeing stop and the ip when inserting the power and holding in the power button, have you tried that ip in your web browser, my mate had similar probs with firefox and chrome, but IE worked for him.
