dm7025 network setup with windows XP (samba maybe ?)

hi,

I have problems with network setup ; I need some basic info

I have several images, also with Barry Allen;

(gemini V4, LT 5th) and my current favorite is Nabilosat 0.7

I have a NAS and network mount works fine;

my problem : how do I see the dm7025 in windows XP?
like networkname, etc. and then to connect the dm7027 to the windows filesystem with a associated letter like x:\ ?

on other images this works, but I don´t know why;
I assume others have same question ;

do I need Samba for this to work ; is the file hosts relevant for this ?
where is the domain setting (what utility or what file) which then is shown windows network connections ?

Basic ftp program can be use eg totalcomander.

For mapping pc on dreambox use nfs or cifs

anyway of course my ftp works fine also a cifs mount towards NAS is fine !

again, I want to see the dm7025 as a network letter on my windows xp pc ; I have this problem with nabilo v07; and I don´t know what is missing

Hello , maybe this little how to in french will help you
i use it and work fine

pour DREAMBOX

- installer un lecteur samba - connectez un lecteur samba sur PC

- sur votre PC , cliker sur "démarrer" --> "executer" et tapper --> \\192.168.1.150 (IP de votre Dream)

- Appuyer sur "OK"

- Cette fenetre apparaitra , faire clik droit sur Harddisk et choisir "connecter un lecteur réseau"

- Choisisez la lettre que vous desirez et cliker sut "terminer" (fermer la fenetre)

- aller dans poste de travail et vous pourez acceder a votre HDD dreambox

- (NB) Normalement toutes les nouvelles images et cvs ont le samba embarquer , si vous utilisez une ancienne image , il faudra y installer le plugin samba avant d'executer cette manipulation
