hi guys,

i have a problem with my dm500 clone.

The problem is with the network....everything is set up ok and the dm500 works well with cccam BUT the problem is that it randomly looses connection with the network and thus i cannot see any $ channels. In order to work again i have to unplug the box several times as when the network problem happens i also have problems booting the box afterwords....

any one seen this before?

ps i tried several images as well and also different psus....:mecry:

thanks

ok..now this is weird....

i opened up the box to check for the leaking capacitors...and no one is leaking or deformed....left the case opened and the circuit board unscrewed and switched on the box....for the past hour or so the box runs smoothly as it should (before in 10 minutes or so it was stuck)...and now my question is... is it possible that the screws or the case are causing the box to overheat or short circuit in a way and that was the cause of the problem?...

Overheating could play a part in it. See how it goes but unless the 500 is in a very in closed place it should not suffer over heating.

to be honest i have been checking it before for overheating but i never observed very high temperatures....

maybe a short circuit issue?

Hard to say but a short circuit because the lids not on doubt it unless your saying you removed the motherboard in that case possible but id say unlikely given a component or track from the mobo would need to be touching the case. Obviously this box has worked in the past so that would seem un likely.

Possibly a short then or maybe a dry solder joint that becomes stressed when installed in the case.

Get a magnifying glass and take a closer look.

i am thinking about using plastic washers for the screws of the motherboard...maybe there was a problem there

seems to be something with the backplate.....when i put everything together with plastic washers on the motherboard screws and closed the case...after 10 minutes it happened again....now i have the motherboard in place and i removed the backplate and for the last 30 minutes it runs smooth

I think it is a IC transformer which is located near LAN card on motherboard MC H1601CG
