dm500-c and dm500-s

:) hi all newbie here am thinking of getting the dm500-c and dm500-s
are the boxes easy to program with the img files
would like to know for the DM500-C which img file would be good to load in to and for the DM500-S dont want to load the wrong img files for the wrong box and bugger them up :confused: any help would be most welcome i have looked at other posts and there seems to be lots of files for both

As regards images for 500-S they are very easy to load. Just use dreamup (you find it in dreambox tool section) and a null modem cable attached to com port of pc and off you go.

You find lots of images and support for 500S model.

Sorry but i dont know anything about C model (which btw is for cable and NOT satellite).

thanks Pattyren have couple of days before my DM500S comes so will check out the files and read and learn ;)

You can use same images for S, T and C models of dm500. I guess your safest bet is gemini image.

thanks Rocknroll,i have dowloaded the gemini image got my null modem cable

now all i have to do is wait for my box to arrive, if i put the gemini image on the box and swing the dish to hotbird would i also need some sort of funcard to view some channels

need best image

hi new to dreambox l have a 500c the box went down a few weeks ago. But not knowing how to flash it myself l seek ur advise l have a null cable just need best image and software to get me back on plz hlp.

For images you cann take a look here:http://www.sat-universe.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15 and decide which one you want.Test some of them,and you will know which is the best for you.
How to flash image with serial cable (you wrote that you have one,look here:http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/dm500/.

thanx for ur hlp but some of the images look out of date.like l say l'm new 2 this just need a good workin image.canu point me in the rite direction plz,sorry if l sound stupid.thanx again

cheers l'm using dreamup is that the rite software 4 this image and when it ask at the start do l erace the flash y/n is it no thanx again m8.does the image matter where l live l'm on exc&w machester

It is best to always erase previous image. The image is just like the software to run the box - it is irrelevant where you live.
