Cyfrowy Polsat grows sub base

The Polish DTH platform operator Cyfrowy Polsat ended the third quarter with 3,506,077 subscribers, a 7% increase on the same period last year.
Of these, 2,742,191 (+5.6%) received its Family and 763,886 (+11.9%) Mini packages.
The overall churn rate was 9.4%, which was 0.8 p.p. down on a year earlier, with that for the Family Package at 10.2% (-1.4 p.p.) and Mini Package 6.4% (+2.1 p.p.)
Average ARPU was PLN37.8 (€8.60), up 6.5% on a year earlier, with the Family Package at PLN44.7 (+6.7%) and Mini Package PLN13.8 (+24.3%).
Cyfrowy Polsat, whose interests include the national TV group TV Polsat, had revenues of PLN615,512,000 in Q3, compared to PLN363,569,000 a year earlier.
However, it also had a net loss of PLN61,987,000, contrasting with a net profit of PLN68,393,000 in Q3 2010.
