CubeRevo receiver or Dish Motor

I have purchased a Cube Revo twin tuner satellite receiver with a 500Gb HDD and I am 90% happy with it at the moment - brilliant picture and sound and an easy installation. However, although no problem zapping around the satellites when the receiver is on, there appears to be a problem if starting from Shutdown or Standby.
In all circumstances the receiver will always come back on at the satellite and channel that it was at when switched off.
Starting from Shutdown the dish will not move, from the satellite it was shutdown on, until I go to the Satellite Configuration and check the signal strengths (no need to reconfigure) of a different satellite.
Starting from Standby it is necessary to move the dish from one end of the spectrum to the other before all satellites are "active".
This is not a problem for just zapping but it does mean that programmed recordings cannot be done unless they are all on the same satellite as when it was Shutdown.
I have replaced the receiver with my old Topfield 5500PVR to check if the problems also affects it but there are no such problems.
My supplier is suggesting that the problem is probably with the dish motor and not the receiver. Based on what I have done to check, is there any possibility he could he be correct?
