CubeRevo 250 HD - Help Guide

I just bought CubeRevo 250 HD, the person sold it to me installed a modified version of the original DGS firmware. I am very new to Linux receiver but willing and trying to learn.

I use google for information but many are old and biased information so I am seeking your help for updated and honest recommendation.

Which software/firmware do you recommend? If I install a new software, will I have to update the drivers or will they be updated automatically? Which server do you recommend with it? CCCam through oscam, nascamd, or something else?

I read that the best picture until now is through the original DGS software, has this changed recently?

I am after the best picture quality and fastest speed of changing and opening channels.

Thanks a bunch!

Start of with the DGS Based images for a start i would say. Then once you get confident move to the enigma images.

I normally go for the nlb based ones. Nice and solid

I prefer DGS based images, better picture and more easy to use. At moment with 250HD I use latest PGI 0.7.1 image and with 9000HD NLB 12413. Both based an DGS official 12413. This is new image Cuberevo-digital release r12947: ( 17/July/2010) but this is beta at moment and when you are new is better wait with this. 12413 based images are both good. For this receiver is other images from SifTeam (latest 0.3.98-r12947), but PGI and NLB are more easy to install and use.

I have a new IPbox 91HD after using Dreambox DM800 with enigma2 and have managed to install the latest NLB 12413 image via USB stick. Now where do I find channel settings for it and db.dat files?
I have been reading a lot on IPboxes for the past week and have gone through tens of forums but I have not yet come across one complete tutorial specifically on 91HD or Cuberevo 250HD.
All I want to use this 91HD is as a client to share with my own Debian server with CCcam and NewCS. Hope someone can shed some light into this. Thanks to All.

Hi Zanadu,

db.dat is located in /var/

Ganzee :thum:

Thanks Ganzee, but what I mean is where do I find the latest db.dat on the net.
I use 9 satellites and I thought maybe I can find them in a file instead of scanning each one like we find channel settings for Dreamboxes.
I did flash an enigma2 image on my 91hd and then I transferred the settings of cyrus via dreamboxedit and it seemed to work.
But now I have flashed the NLB image and do not know where to get these channel settings.

Use latest PCEditor , import dreambox channel datebase and then send db.dat to IPBox.
