Clone?

I got an 800hd given which doesn't work, how do I know if it's clone or original box.

Bootloader is #76 & 2.01 sim, just tried flashing it via web & it gets to 9% then says bad sectors and goes no further (used allrussian clone image)

Is there any hope for the box & if so which image should I use, box cost original owner about £240 back in 2010.

When I plug box in it just freezes straight away on what looks like a plijade image, any help greatly appreciated

Sim 2 tells you it is a clone.

Use Dreamup to flash it with a sim2 clone image and on the extra tab in DreamUP select recover bad sectors.

Re

Just tried what you suggested but it still stops at calculating checksum.

I'm having to use a null modem cable with usb adapter, would this make any difference ?, thanks for your help.

Not sure about adapter but have you got your network cable connected and make sure sure you tick then network box in dreamup.

If it is connecting and showing you the DMM typoe it should be ok

Try with Null and ethernet lead attached

Start DreamUP with box power disconnected making sure recover bad sectors is ticked.

Tick the Network box

In the remote IP box enter a IP in your router range and then click connect.

At the prompt power on the box and watch the front display it should show a IP and Dreamup should say its in http mode

When it does select your image in DreamUP and flash

Still no luck, this is how I'm doing it.
Box unplugged

holding power button & plugging box in (I've now got the I.P. address)

unplugged box & started dreamup (1.3.3.9--tried others including the patched one)

enabled recover bad sectors in dreamup & then plugged box back in.

dreamup now says uploading flash loader (enabled recovery of bad sectors also showing)

once uploading is finished it stops (saying waiting for acknowledgement)

to get past this I use flicksters magic files and the dm800 repair, this enables the greyed out flash button

when I start to flash image it stops at calculating checksum & that's as far as I get.
Thanks for all your help.

This can be done in 2 ways.
1) You have to have a working dreambox.
2) DM800_repair, you alter dreamup to be able to use greyed buttons.
Now for the first sollution.
1) Connect working dreambox DM600/DM800.
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When dreambox is found by dreamup, insert Null-Modem cable in
the broken dreambox.
4) Press flash button, and chose a firmware.
5) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
6) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
7) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)
Now for the second sollution
1) Connect broken dreambox DM600/DM800
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When you see second loader error popup, just press ok.
4) Open http://www.gsmsweden.com/forhike/sat/dm800/2nd_stage_pack.rar
5) Drag DM800_repair in front of dreamup, and press dream multimedia logo.
6) Now press the greyed Flash button, and chose firmware.
7) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
8) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
9) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)

I. The onlything a hav´t test is this
1. Connect a working drembox with dreamup.
2. click connect (Dreamup find the working dreambox)
3. Remove serial(Null) Cabel from working dreambox
4. Connect Serial(Null) cabel to dead dm.
5. Power on dead dm
6. Flash.

II. use enforcer

how to use enforcer
1) connect dead box to dreamup, press connect
2) press ok at ca error popup, any error just press ok
3) download enforcer
4) drag enfocer in front om dreamup, press enable in enforcer
5)press flash and chose flash file
6) flash probably hangs
7) connect the broken box to dreamup, press connect and try flash, chose flash file, hopefully it works now

To explain all qestion about file to big!!

1. switch on enforcer press enable
2. Run dream up and press connection
3. Switch on dm800 (should send now BL to box)
4. If dreamup succesfully send BL to box (doing this automaticly when you plug in power cable to box)
5. shout down dream up and enforcer
6. shout down box, switch on dream up (just dream up! press connection)
7. switch on box
8. now when everything goes ok, you are able again to flash box
