CI cards in IP Box 9000

I'm at the stage where my cable susbcription card
with sifteam emu's is producing a decent collection of
local channels.Astra is working fine ( except for BBC 3,4.

As I have a Sat(Astra 28.2)/Cable tuner combo I thought I'd put in my Sky Sat card in the second CI slot.

Box didn't like this (Err 83).I have mgcamd 1.30d - newscs 1.61 running.

Could anyone explain why my IP Box didn't like this? Eg does it allow only one card at a time.I have no idea how these emu's work.

Thanks

Thanks for the fast feedback Ocaklilar.

So I have my Cable tuner card in the top CI slot and my Sky Card in the bottom.

This resulted in Err 83 which means wrong contact to tunermodule.

I'm trying to understand what this means so that I can find a solution.

1. Does it mean that each mini PCI slot is dedicated to each of my tuners and I have the card in the wrong slot.
2. Does it mean that 2 cards creates a conflict with each tuner

Note that I only tried this to se if my Skycard had any effect in the IP Box ( a question I asked earlier in the forum about using a Diablo cam in the CAM slot).

Any clarity would be really helpful.

User's manual trobleshooting section says about what to do for this 82 or 83 error:

AC power off and Adjust tuner module

How to adjust? I don't know.

Are you saying you are using your, card from your cable box in the ipbox? (sorry it is that you say cable TUNER card), if so dd you amend the the settings for your box id etc or did it just work

Bacardi,

Yes, I have a card from the local cable provider. I am using mgcamd + newsc so just slotted this card chip down in one of the slots. Took a few minutes but now I have all of the channels from the analog cable systems, now digitally, fairly stable. Before with the DTV box from my provider and the same chip card the service was crap, pixelisation, drop out all of the time.

Best, I can combine the cable with my Astra sat channels in one favourites list. PIP seems to hiccup a bit but I have to solve this at another stage. Also EPG is a bit flaky, I only get one day at a time.

So my original question was can I use 2 cards at the same time in the IP box or does this create a conflict.

The Sky card was from my old digibox. So I'm just wondering if this works and can I get other channels with the skycard in the IP Box.

Any help appreciated.
