Two Chinese singers have reportedly been fined after allegedly miming during a live show.
The pair are thought to be the first people to be punished for breaking laws passed after criticism of lip-synching during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Reuters reports.
According to the official Xinhua news agency, two young women were spotted miming to a backing track at a show in south-western China's Chengdu city last year.
A local government's cultural affairs official said: "No signals were received from their microphones while the show was on."
The pair were fined 50,000 yuan (£4,740) each and could have their performance licences revoked if they are found to perform further mimed concerts in the future.
