Brazil reaches 20m pay-TV subs

According to regulator Anatel, Brazil’s pay-TV market was numbering 19.65 million at the end of October having gained a net 210,000 in the month. If this growth continues then the nation will be at the 20 million mark by the end of December.
Satellite-delivered DTH continues to make the most progress, with a 61.9 per cent market shares (12.17m) with cable-delivered TV having 7.39 million subs and IPTV with just 78,000.
The operator with the largest number of subscribers is Carlos Slim-controlled America Movil (NET and Claro) with 10.42 million homes, while Sky (DirecTV) has 5.65 million. Oi has 1.12 million.
