Brazil’s Globo to launch audiovisual entertainment website
by Hernán Amaya | January 9, 2014

On January 11, the Brazilian network TV Globo will launch a new website where it will collect the complete offer of audiovisual entertainment and exclusive content specially produced for the Internet. It will also have a mobile version for tablets and smartphones.

The site will be called GShow and will include series, soap operas, comic, variety and reality shows. Casseta e Planeta is among the most important productions. Globo used this same strategy with their sports productions in Globoesporte.com and with news in G1 (g1.globo.com).

It will also include web series, satires, video clips, as well as cooking, fashion and beauty tutorials; all of them exclusive productions for the new site. The Brazilian press pointed out that a new web series about an advertising agency will be produced as well as another one about the behind the scenes of a theater group; there will also be a satire called Morri na TV (from the Morri de Sunga Branca creators), which takes an ironic stand about TV programming.
