if i have SSL84D installed and I would like to go back to an 84B image, would i need to roll back the bootloader as well or can i just flash the image only please?

try the bootloader first and if that don't work just flash an image with that bootloader

ok but what I mean is whether an older image will work with a newer bootloader or whether I need to remove the 84d bootloader and revert to the earlier bootloader version?

I know that the other way round it wont work for example using a newer image but having an old bootloader (CA error)

if you flash the correct image for that sim you will not get a NO CA ERROR and you wont know until you try if you can go backwards

84d is working fine but I want to install an older 1.6 image on my DM800hd as the 2.0 version is too slow . Should I keep the 84d and flash OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800-2012-10-27-By-gjstroom-dOOds-Backup ?

I would just try and flash the image with the bootloader already in it, if its says invalid type maybe you will need to flash it with dreamup and a nullmodem cable and the etherent cable connected and make sure you tick the use network box or it will take over 60 mins to flash it with just the nullmodem cable

Update: I installed OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800-2012-10-27-By-gjstroom-dOOds-Backup over the bl 84d and it worked fine, no ca error "no nothing". Has anyone else experienced sluggish performance from OE2 images in the DM800hd please? Or rather what OE2 image are you using with this receiver?
