hey guys,

had a mess around trying to get barry allen to work, had couple errors, probs user ones,

current setup.

dm800hd clone sim 2.01
internal 300gb hd.
usb card reader 2gb sd card.

multi sat setup, almost know my satelite co-ordinates off by heart lol, as entered soo many times with new images.

my question is, and its guessing as ive not seen barry allen working,

does it boot up to a front end on dm800, with a list of images we install on usb/usb card reader?

Do we still need a main inmage installed onto dm800?

is it worth the effort?

thanks guys,

ps, ive had a ton of help from this forum, so a big :thum:

Barry Allen normally works on the internal flash.
It needs a USB or a Hard drive.
Yes it does display a list of images installed on the external flash.
Yes iy is worth the trouble, if you want to install various images on the external flash.

Thanks for reply,

Think I get it now :) will have another go tomorrow,

If we use the hard drive to store images, does that mean it cant be mapped later in each image for recording if its being used as a big flash drive? so maybe best to use usb card memory?

use a usb stick for barryallen and disable your hard drive before you install it,you dont want it on your hard drive or its spinning all the time

Just tried ferrets guide,

http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=82737

which seems super easy to follow.

at this stage

"Now type opkg install /tmp/barryallen.ipk"

I get an error message in telnet:

*** glibc detected *** opkg: double free or corruption (out): 0x00419278 *** Aborted

not sure why it fails

edit just tried manually

get error

" *** glibc detected *** ipkg: free() invlalid pointer: 0x004f9820 Aborted

execution finished!! "
