all ive got is a green screen after deleting i thing the var folder

Just install the image again on your box & it should be fine
Getting the green screen or (GREEN SCREEN OF DEATH -GSOD) as its known is normal when things dont work using enigma 2
Your box will be fine when you have reinstalled image
