Argentina’s DeporTV is available in HD

State Argentine DTT channel DeporTV began broadcasting its programming in HD on Monday, January 6. Thus, it is preparing to be the alternative channel (the other one will be TV Pública, channel 7) to cover the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.
“The soccer World Cup will be broadcasted by Canal 7 -TV Pública- and DeporTV. It includes every match, 32 live and 32 recorded. The broadcast will now reach every resident of the country for free”, Radio y Televisión Argentina Sociedad del Estado’s (entity that groups the radio and TV State services) Director, Tristán Bauer, stated.
DeporTV had already done technical trials to broadcast in HD a few months ago, in the band left free by Suri TV (from the Albavision Group). The channel went off air and is still unknown if it will ever start broadcasting again.
