Antenna Hungária outlines DTT changes
19.46 Europe/London, September 27, 2011 By Chris Dziadul

The Hungarian national transmission company Antenna Hungária has provided further details about the major changes it is introducing to its DTT offer at the end of this month.

Based on a new transmission contract with the MTVA, they will see the creation of a new public service multiplex (Mux A), with Duna and Duna 2 moved from Mux C to Mux A, and all public channels being made available for the first time on one frequency.

Furthermore, Duna will be available in SD, while Duna 2, replacing the former Duna ll Autonómia, will switch to HD.

Hungarian Radio, which has until now been operating on a test basis on MinDig TV, will meanwhile now be on the platform on a permanent contractual basis.

To form Mux A, the services TV2, RTL Klub, euronews, Hir TV, ATV, SportKlub, Info Channel and NeoFM will be moved to Mux C.

There will be a swap of Mux A and B frequencies in four regions: Budapest, Karancs-Salgótarján, Békéscaba and Vasvár.

DVB-H transmissions will cease on Mux B on September 28 and be replaced by the new MinDig TV Extra Family package.
