Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC) is setting sail to Indonesia to take part in the United Nation Environment Program's (UNEP) International Children and Youth Conference on the Environment TUNZA, taking place in the city of Bandung from 27 September to 1st of October 2011.

TUNZA is a platform for children and youth to express their thoughts and concerns on tomorrow's issues related to nature, and species. Throughout a series of seminars, lectures, and open debates the conference aims to shape the environment's future from the perspective of youth and children.

The United Nation Environment Program's (UNEP) International Children and Youth Conference on the Environment TUNZA, dedicated to preserving the environment and its living species, will host around 1400 youth and children from the different parts of the world in two main age groups 10 - 14 and 15 - 25 years, out of which 15 children from the Arab world will be actively present.

Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC) will have a unique presence as the only children's channel invited by the UNEP to cover the different angles of this conference and highlight the youth's interaction and participation in what's known to be one of the most prominent environmental awareness youth conferences. Hayat Al Tahrir, JCC's news magazine will be on the ground in Bandung Indonesia with a team of 7 young reporters to capture the different activities and interview the participants in TUNZA; and to understand the views, and proposed projects put forward by the youth for a better future and a sustainable environment.

A special episode of Hayat Al Tahrir about TUNZA conference will be broadcast on Sunday 2nd of October 2011.

JCC's Executive General Manager, Mahmoud Bouneb said, "A healthy environment is crucial for our children's future, and the role of JCC in Children's media is instrumental. The United Nations demonstrates serious efforts to support the noble cause of healing mother earth, through the organization of TUNZA conference annually. It makes us proud to be invited by this respectable body to attend and contribute to this conference, as well as spread its message to the whole world."
