Africabox TV goes OTT
August 24, 2012 10.23 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The French language African music channel Africabox TV is now available on a number of OTT platforms.

The music channel is also available in Africa on the Canal Horizon DTH platform on SES-4 and in France on a number of platforms, including CanalSat, Orange, Free, SFR, Bouyges Telecom, Alice, and Virgin Mobile. In Belgium, the channel is now on the Numericable cablenet.

Owners of an Apple iPad, Roku set-top box or a Samsung smart TV can directly access the 24/7 channel by using the IPWorldTV app and subscribe to one of the packages which inlcude the channel.

California-based IPWorldTV was established in 2005 and claims to be ‘the largest ethnic IPTV platform on earth’. Since its formation, IPWorldTV has acquired 300+ TV & Radio Channels from 40 countries, in 14 different languages.

With its proprietary technology, IPWorldTV is providing live streaming in SD, HD, and before long, 3D format over public internet.

With a potential audience of 400 million viewers, Aficabox TV’s aim is to give access to sub-Saharan musical and cultural richness, including from Madagascar and deliver the best of African music. The family channel addresses the African diaspora and offers all-day dedicated programming.
