@moonbase ...Do you mean those dishes in your pics ?
They look pretty small 1.6m max ??
really do not look like 2.4m from those pics .... and the petals if not 1 piece i'd run far away from personally speaking they surely be a nightmare any slight gust of wind and they'd be blown away in four pieces
i've seen greenhouses blown 2 fields away here with the kinda high winds we get , also those D.I.Y Cable tied LNB holders do not look very professional or original to me i hope i'm wrong look like a TMate dish lnb holder cable tied together ?
@barney115
Yes, those are Prodelin 1244 model 2.4m Rx/Tx dishes with 4 segments
They are a broadcast grade dish with transmit and receive capability and if setup correctly are at least the equivalent of a 2.4m CM dish.
If they were not this quality they would not get used by commercial organisations for satellite uplinks and downlinks.
The LNB holder is not cable tied, the cable ties are only to keep the LNB cables neatly routed, they are not to keep the feed assembly in place.
Metal bolts hold the feed arm assembly to the feed arm, it aint going anywhere.
If you check the 1st of the two pictures in post 58 that show the feed assembly, on the left you can see one of the two holes that are used to secure the feed assembly in place by bolts.
Don't worry about them blowing away, I can assure you that they do not blow away in strong winds once installed and that they give the expected SNR dB signal level for their size of 2.4m.
The rear mounting frame and quadrant linking system is very robust and provides precise quadrant alignment. How do I know this, I have access to one that is installed and I have tested it extensively.
If
@butchyboy gets the 2.4m Prodelin and installs it correctly he will be able to confirm these points.
He will be the top Irish dx man on this forum, dat's for sure.
Like I said earlier, these are mens dishes, not for inexperienced puppy boys.
