23.5 E: In the operation a new transponder in DVB-S2

The satellite, Astra 3B at the orbital position 23.5 Wed east was put into test operation a new transponder. New capacity is working in DVB-S2 and yet contains a test pattern SES Astra (ID: ASTRA Caption).
The transponder is working on freq 11.934 GHz and uses a relatively high symbol rate (SR).
It is not yet clear who will benefit from new capacity. The transponder can be used for measuring and verifying any possible coverage of the new Astra customers.
