One in five women would forgive their man for having a one-night stand as long as he said it 'meant nothing', a study has revealed.

Researchers found many women would be prepared to 'do a Coleen' and take back a man who confessed to having one-off sex with someone else.

The figures emerged in a report which also revealed eight out of ten Brits couldn't care less if their partner became 'emotionally' involved with someone else -- as long as they didn't have sex.

Other things women claim are acceptable in a relationship include office flirting, after work drinks, suggestive remarks to another woman and buying gifts.

It should be noted that Newslite is simply presenting the finding of this study -- don't blame us is doing one of these things gets you into trouble.
However, nine out of ten women claim they would dump a man who had regular sex with someone else, millions would forgive indiscretions over the phone or on text.

And it also emerged half of girls would show their partner the door if he kissed another woman, while snogging is also an absolute no-no.

A spokesperson for lovinglinks.co.uk, which conducted the poll of 3,000 people, said: "The results of this survey are really surprising, because we assumed people would be more concerned about the emotional aspect of relationships than the physical.

"We were expecting the results to show that sex is just sex, and that sharing intimate thoughts and feelings with someone other than a partner would be much more hurtful.

"Instead people feel the exact opposite. The thought of a partner touching someone else, and getting intimate in the physical way is actually much more disturbing for the majority of our respondents."
