Hi friends ...
..looking forward to trying this new image

I've downloaded and flashed the required uboot image using flashtools...
..but flashtools doesn't recognise .bin files by default ..
Is it ok to just rename:- usb_all_noboot_ipbox9000_ab_20080611.bin to usb_all_noboot_ipbox9000_ab_20080611.img before flashing ?

Thanks Betor ..I know uboot 1.3.1 is an img file ...and I have already flashed this to my box ...but the latest release from ABcom is a bin file ...which is why I asked if it should just be renamed ..

Hi Hulday...like you Im no expert when it comes to this box ...
..but the way I understand it Uboot 1 3 1 is an updated bootloader and needs to be installed before the new firmware image from ABcom...
I've used flashtools to install the new bootloader ...and since I got no reply to my question ..and the abcom .bin image is the same physical size as previous images ...I took a chance and renamed the .bin extension to .img ..so that flashtools recognised it ..
Im currently halfway through uploading the new image to my box ..
fingers crossed all goes ok ..

Install completed ...but after reboot the box went into panic mode ...
Powered down and rebooted a second time and this time the word MARKIZA came up on the display ..but shortly afterwards the box again went into panic mode ..
I guess I did something wrong ...but not sure just what..

THIS IS THE RIGHT INSTALATION
Software upgrade from USB memory stick (host):

• backup important data from memory stick before try to update. Remove all data from it.
• copy "usb update.img" image to USB memory stick
• run "remove h/w(memory stick)" function on PC. You can see icon on right bottom (left of clock) screen.
• turn off the stb(Standby + OK) and insert the memory stick.
• press and hold Standby button until front display shows “BOOTING” and press UP key
(on the front side of the box, not on RC), then front display shows "USB UPGRADE" message..
• uboot will update s/w with usb_update.img from memory stick
• Wait until DONE message displays. Restart your receiver.

Thanks m8 ..
that might explain the image isn't stable ...
..though it is working most of the time ..
My proble is that I left my memory stick at work ...so will have to wait till tomorrow to re-flash with it ..

I just assumed it would be ok from the pc using flashtools
