Network problems

I've been networking LINUX sat since the first days
of DreamBox but this has me stumped.

Tested the network with QBoxHD/DreamBox/Kathrien
all work fine with

192.168.0.25
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1 (gateway)
192.168.0.1 (nameserver)

But the Cooltream doesn't ? sometimes it says *reachable* but
FTP and Telnet does not work.
root
coolstream

I've tried so many combinations, that finally I ask WTF?

Your experience is appreciated.

OK, thanks

Just got a connection (FTP)
Hasn't been working for a day
and I still don't understand the problem,
but seems to want to work now.
Maybe because of the post here ? ahahahaha

Thanks

Now it dropped out again.
well I got my answer, nothing special about neutrino networking. So I'll just keep fiddling with it.

Well turns out it's my *powerPlug* network.
Neutrino does not like it, all my other boxes (enigma)
don't seem to have a protocol problem with it.

So if the box is network connected direct to the router, no problem....

Now I have to find a fan that is quieter.
The one supplied is noisy.
I removed it and ran the box for a while, certainly
is not hotter that an 800HD....
But they put a FAN IN SO I'll look for
a silent 5cm fan....

..

it isn't a "neutrino" problem.

I have 2 other dbox2 with neutrino on board, and ,they, have no problem with the network.

I too have had problems with the network CoolStream.

and I have partially solved by changing the make and model of switch.

In particular I found that has problems with old hub 10

while works quite good with network switch 10/100.

and even better if you can connect it directly to the router.

But
There is another thing I failed to fully resolve and understand:

when (Using the cccamd.list) connected as a client to CCcam (all CCcam versions)

I have too many serious Bracket / Frezza on sky.it.

and the same C-lines, if placed on dbox2 ,work perfectly at the best.(hops1)

anybody has idea why?

any suggestions?

Hi
For Network try it with DHCP setting
Static Network Adress don´t Work for me,got no Connection.

But
There is another thing I failed to fully resolve and understand:
Hi try to edit your Mgcamd Ignore and Priority List
with the settings you need for Sly Ita
Here a example which i have to make for S1-S7 + SCT Card :
Priority List
X: { 02 3B 00}
Ignore List
#ignore irdeto chids, (nova example):
I: { 35 C0 }
I: { 35 C1 }
I: { 35 C2 }
I: { 35 C4 }
Only with this Settings the Mgcamd open S1-S4 from my Local Card which is in my CCcam Box

*For Network try it with DHCP setting *

Thanks, tried that a number of times,
no connection.

It seems it did come through my powerplug network
a couple of times, but it was hit and miss.
No problem, as it is only for experiments
and it worked fine when connected directly to D-Link router
and running mgamd as client.

So I'll fix the fan and wait for more development of
the images (just as the QBox I test)

question 1:
static address working perfectly
it is a only a incompatibility ...with same hub/router/switch model, (and it is good thing for a new decoder and may depend on the type of Ethernet that mounts the CoolStream)... or with your cable/lan.

Question 2
the priority it is not decisive if only *** sky italy 093b or 0919. (ON dbox2 i have not priority, no ignore ...nothing:) and work perfectly.)and of course has no relevance with Bracket.

I can really only think that Mgcamd is not able to work (with cccamd.list) perfectly on this caid, especially if there is a server reader OSCAM with N to CCcam.

other ideas / suggestions?

Hi
Remember that the MgCamd 134 with the possibilty to connect to CCcam is special made for Coolstrem,so maybe there are a few Problems that must be resolved.
My Cool is directly connected to my Router and i use a very good Network Cable,if i use a Static Addi i got no ping
only if i use DHCP the Netork Work´s correct..

hi(also me think mgcamd134 has same problems (""arrocco"" camd:D)

i use e static ip

and (after change hardWare switch) it is ok

I read about your similar problems ,with some models of Netgear router.

What brand / Model of router have you ?

however:I still think that Ethernet CoolStream has problems.

Coolstream with mtd2_09_11_2009/Mgcamd
still does not work over a *powerplug* network.
All my other sat receivers work fine over
this kind of network (see sig for list)
Hope someone will port a good network lib for nuetrino.
Awaiting new images......

now I have your same image 09 11

but before

I experienced the same problems with the hotthuna.img

I hope it's library ISSUES...

but I'm afraid that is a problem of ethernet hardware compatibility

I personally solved changing ethernet switch, brand and model

Yes may work with a different set/brand
of HomePlugs, but I have enough units
to use in exchange at the moment.
The Coolstream is a very interesting
unit: once I removed the noisy fan.
Doesn't heat any more than my 800HD

VICTORY :)
The official image from 18-12-2009 works fine
with homeplugs, and all I needed to add MGcamd
was this great download "Install newcs_mgcam_intern_extern_ camdreset_start_stop.rar "
Everything fine now, sharing over network............

@ icecave89

did you put something else in the place of the noisy fan or did you just leave it without any kind of cooling? I know the machine's name starts with cool but I don't expect him to be that cool :D

No I just left it with the heat sink.'
And check the temp once and a while (by hand)
doesn't seem as warm as my Dreambox800HD (I used to have a
fan in that, and just replaced it with a couple of heat sinks,
and removed the hard drive).

So the Coolstream does not seem to run hotter than most
non-fan receivers I own.
Of course the warranty is null after you open the box
if the dealer wants to get nasty.

I do not run the unit 24/7 like my Dreambox 7000, so I don't
think it makes a difference with no fan.
