France## 24 closes new agreements and widens its Latin American presence

After# its launching in the region, in July 2010, the news channel France 24# is trying to increase its presence in Latin America. According to what Athanas Jamo#, Market Analyst Distribution Manager, in 2011, it will be part of the content offer of the aggregator and integrator DLA through Spanish and Portuguese subtitled programs. Moreover, in Brazil, Globo News will broadcast 10 minutes of its programming. The company has also closed an agreement with the chain Telesur aimed at exchanging information and experiences.

Jamo# stated that at present the channel can be seen in San Vicente Cable from Argentina, Cableplus from Uruguay an din mobile telephones of the companies Tim and Vivo in Brazil. The channel is broadcasted in three languages: French, English and Arabian. "They are three independent channels with different editorial devices", Jamo pointed out. The# channel is featured by "its offering different points of view and debates with an impartial sight over each issue".

The executive# also highlighted that in the future a Spanish version might be created though no news have been disclosed yet. The Agreement with DLA will enable France 24 to cover great part of Latin America, since the company is present in the 95% of digital operations in the region, in 25 countries. "We cannot be present in analog systems since we are 100% focused on digital systems", #Jamo sated.

In December# 2006, France 24 launched its 24-hour information offer. It is present in 145 million households worldwide, in 400 pay-TV operations and in 15 mobile telephony operators.

In Latin## America, it launched its French# service in July this year, through Intelsat 9 #satellite#.
