Because of:
1. most of modern satellite receivers have software emulators inside. So, you do not need a real plastic card for some channels. All you need is to udate firmware with emu enabled and then write your keys using remote controller or USB flash drive.
2. if some channels can not be opened using emu, you can use one or more card sharing services through the Internet. Most of modern receivers have Ethernet (LAN) socket or serial port (RS232) for this. You also may use so-called "season interface" if your receiver have an appropriate slot for a card.
3. you can use IPTV (if your internet connection is fast enough)

By the way.
Now I have:
- PC/SC Smart Card reader integrated in my notebook
- a couple of goldcards.
What the software I need to work with this cards and this reader?
I have "SCardToolSet Pro ver. 3.448 (Demo)" and "WoronScan ver. 1.09", but this soft is for GSM SIM cards, so I can only send "reset" commant to card and get an answer (ATR), and nothing more.
