USB device no longer recognized

Hello
I have stupidly downgraded the software of my MV 9085 USB NET Combo Special Edition, from 6.23 to 6.17 and now the receiver does not recognize the USB device so I can't do a software upgrade.
I don't have a RS-232 cable to try upgrade the system via this method.
I have tried to reset the system but it does keep the software v.6.17.
Any help and advice is much appreciated.

Simply.....buy a RS-232 cable and solve your problem

can I use a RS-232 to USB cable?
I tried to do a direct software upgrade via the net but the receiver refuses to upgrade stating that the current version 6.17 is more uptodate than the downloaded one (1.33)!
I've also tried to upgrade to the 6.23 file but I get error message "Wrong ROM image"
