As more content is being broadcast in 4:2:2 format. Buying a new receiver that doesn't support it would be kind of a waste.
Enigma2 receivers are a plus also. Who wants to be locked into cheap chinabox firmware?
It's said that Broadcom is getting out of the FTA receiver chipset line. And if you look deep into chipsets, they are several years old. Even in the 'newer' receivers.
My 'next' receiver will be pc/card based. Good cards like the TBS line are iffy. Some seem to work well and others...not so well.
Read unbiased reviews. The Octagon might be a winner.
My current receiver which is a cheap Chinese HiTube 4K Combo Plus uses that HiSilicon chipset and has a USB 3 port and uses OpenATV image natively. The Octagon like the HiTube only has 1GB of RAM which is why I overlooked it.

The HiTube does blindscan I have tested it, I couldn't say if it does it well though since I have nothing to compare it to.

Sounds cool. My current receiver is an os mio 4k. Memory reports 1.6gb with 1.2gb available. That's running OpenATV 6.4.
Using a 1tb external HDD and everything that I can select which will utilize it is directed to the drive.
As far as anything else. The receiver is a charm. Natively it will not do 4:2:2. And as found some months ago the NASA channels going 10 bit....something. Were not viewable.
But I could stream to my pc and watch them on VLC, as could I with 4:2:2 content.
I would add that since I have a Roku and Fire TV, using my receiver as a streaming box doesn't really matter.
Blindscan works very well and that's important to me.
But. I can't really narrow down my next receiver.VU+ is a no. Dreambox is very iffy. Just not wanting a "new" receiver with a 6+ year old chipset or limited function tuner.
So, I'm in on this thread to see what comes of it.

Have you taken a closer look at the options they are:

CHOOSE FROM SATELLITE DVB-S2X FBC TUNER OR TWIN TERRESTRIAL DVB-T2 TUNERS!
The site offers twin sat or twin terrestrial, not one of each.

I can watch NASA TV UHD on 0.8W and on 13.0E are those the channels you can't watch?
