The following new and updated addons (attached below) will work with KodiLite 9.0 in images with
python3 and python 2 (check in /usr/lib for python version) :-

Subtitles with KodiLite How To

To play subtitles with a movie using KodiLite 9.0 - please follow these steps :-

1. Download the movie with KodiLite 9.0. Note the folder where the video file is downloaded.

2. Download the subtitles file using a subtitles site (for example h**ps://subscene.com/ . Follow the instructions for search.
The downloaded file - if zipped - unzip to find the .srt file.

3. Put .srt file in the in the same folder as the downloaded movie file. Rename the .srt file to have the same name
as the downloaded movie file. For example The-Menu.mp4 and The-Menu.srt.

4. Install the attached addon plugin.video.vidplayer-1.0.1 in KodiLite 9.0 . In the addon - find the movie .mp4 file and select to play.
