P this is the channel hash ==>(754351E4) group this is a group channel tha can be any group number that you like for example (5500 or 5501 so on ==>(0300) ; you going to need last version of oscam and enable Switch Debug on number 2 you will be able to see channel hash and group id of your choice.


group id MUST be unique !

I am trying to do my own softcam key were does this number come from new to this trying to understand

this number is the channel hash #.
you need to have this line in your config file:
initial_debuglevel = 2
to be able to see it in oscam status web screen. then you enter it in your softcam.key file, before the group #, witch must be unique.

I noticed that almost all the "hash" (Example: channel hash: 62084B0D, group id: 0000) information on a given satellite location changes after I do a blind scan and I have to do the tedious task of adding the new hash for the channels back. I'm using the latest OSCam r11572-798 on Octagon SF8008 on OpenVIX

where do you get the channel hash #?
if you have group id: 0000 for all channels, then is not working. group id: MUST be unique: 0001, 0002..etc for each channel hash #.

Maybe you misunderstood me. I get the Hash from the Log File., eg....(emu) channel hash: 119E1D0C, group id: 3920

But every time I do a blindscan, I get new Hash that wipes out the old one, and replaced with a new one with a Group ID of 0000.

you get a group id: 0000, when channel hash is not associated with any unique group id in your sofcam file, and/or there are more then 1 group id with same #.
i cant answer why you get this problem only after a fresh scan. i have one scan, and i just scan a new tp. then i make changes (add/remove channel) of the channel list with dreamset, and reload the the new modified list into my box. i dont need to to a fresh scan every time a new channel or new tp is added to a sat.

This makes a lot of sense now. I noticed there are slight frequency changes when I do a blind scan on some channels hence, the hash change.
