Sex offender demands $10,000 for damaged reputation

A BLOKE was sued for $10,000 by an Ebay seller because he wrote a neutral review about the service he got.

Steve Shellhorn bought some coins from a man in North Carolina and made a comment on Ebay that he felt that the coins were packed poorly.

He said that they were hanging out of the envelope and had no packing material at all. Since the seller wanted feedback, Shellhorn posted his comments.

However the seller threw his toys from the pram and sued him for $10,000. Shellhorn had to go to court to defend himself.

A Judge in Buncombe County, North Carolina tossed out the case but it still cost Shellhorn $500 to hire a lawyer.

Shellhorn said that he was jolly lairy of leaving feedback for anyone these days. According to King5 magazine there is always the threat of litigation with any business transaction.

Mind you K5 pointed out that the bloke flogging the coins might not have had much of a reputation to protect. He was a registered sex offender
