BISS-CA: live test

Hi,

the new BISS-CA encryption system by EBU, that will replace BISS-1 starting Jan 2021, is currently undergoing a live test phase till Dec 2020.

BISS-2 2610 has been around for more than a year already i feel if it was possible to break it then it would have been done so long before now .

Yes I think so. Unfortunately I think they are now completing the white listing of their affiliates' receivers in order to entitle them. I do expect starting Jan 2021 all the TX usually encrypted in 0x2600 will move to 0x2610, starting from the basic EBU1/2/3 permanent news feeds :(

its always been on the cards i think it would have been implemented much sooner if not for Covid-19 !!
it will seriously affect the vast majority of BISS Feeds
And is likely being done to destroy all BISS 'AU' Boxes making them quite useless that will be their thinking anyhow .

We will see whether the change will affect the BISS feeds directly managed by EVN only (since they have to know the receivers' ids as a root authority) or also intra-company exchange feeds (not routed via EBU).
