Hey guys. Sorry for the lateness of this recap. There was a storm in my area that cut my television out for a few hours, I therefore sadly missed TNA tonight. However, here is the official recap provided by Marcus Cygy of http://www.tnawrestling.com .

We had to wait seven days to find out the fate of Jeff Jarrett, and finally tonight was the night. Just when Jarrett thought he had no other options, out of nowhere came Eric Young who said he could help him. Despite initially shrugging Eric off, Jarrett accepted the offer as the two went off. Jeremy Borash then sent us to ringside for our opening contest.
NWA World Tag Team Champions, Homicide and Hernandez of LAX had The Mack Brothers standing in front of their path en route to No Surrender’s Ultimate X Match. Academically, Crazy K and PJ Mack were executed with the Cop Killer by Homicide, following with the Gringo Killer from Hernandez to retain the titles.
After the bout, Konnan was there with microphone in hand to once again degrade AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels. In this case though, the talking came off very cheap while the actions from LAX’s competitors came with a very strong message. The Fallen Angel and AJ Styles were able to fend off all members of The Latin American Exchange, upon hanging the NWA World Tag Team Titles at the top of the Ultimate X structure which was setup in preparation for the epic “No Surrender” Pay-Per-View. However, LAX didn’t dare attempt to climb the daredevil structure. What will happen when titles are on the line at No Surrender and the Ultimate X structure becomes inevitable?
Bobby Roode went outside of TNA this week in attempts of finding himself a new manager. The possible manager he found was none other than wrestling hall of famer, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. It was a very convincing pick for Bobby Roode, as Bobby Heenan named off the great stars he has managed to the likes of Ric Flair and Andre the Giant, among others. Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt were seen backstage to what they called ‘studying’ when watching the new Jackass 2 movie. Jerry Lynn couldn’t believe it when he heard they were studying. Lynn walked off after trying to talk some sense into the X stars.
Eight-man tag team action was up next as America’s Most Wanted along with Matt Bentley and Kazarian were taking on the cult favourite of Shark Boy and Norman Smiley and their partners, The James Gang. Great effort from both teams, in fact it was America’s Most Wanted who won the match for their team fair and square when James Storm landed the super kick on Norman Smiley. What wasn’t fitting for Storm however was Chris Harris running in and making the pin for the victory, immediately after the super kick. Harris by no means wanted to harm their friendship, but it was a situation that was impossible to resolve with Storm so Chris Harris fled the scene with Gail Kim trying to talk some sense into Storm in the ring.
These problems within America’s Most Wanted can only go on for so long before one member snaps. Will it ever get that far?
The polygraph test for Jeff Jarrett was next and among the first questions asked of Jeff Jarrett included, one, “Are you Jeff Jarrett?” and two, “Are you the NWA World Heavyweight Champion?” However, Eric Young who was there not only for moral support, but also some incentive was there to stop the questions. Eric believed that these questions were a scam for a greater plan laid out by Jim Cornette. The polygraph session would continue throughout the night.
Tension between The Naturals and Shane Douglas became very evident in an interview conducted by Mike Tenay with The Franchise. Shane stated that if The Naturals were not able to defeat seven other teams and climb back to the top of the tag team division, then he would be willing to end this ‘experiment’ on the spot. That didn’t sit to fondly with Chase Stevens initially, nor Andy Douglas moments later. The duo both confronted The Franchise on his comments in stating, “We’ve done everything you’ve ever asked of us”, to where Shane responded by saying, “Oh really, but when?” Are the newly franchised Naturals beginning to crumble under the intense pressure that goes along with being on the umbrella of “The Franchise” Shane Douglas?
This wouldn’t be the first time we have seen a team disperse from The Franchise – we saw Matt Bentley who was aligned with Shane Douglas in 2003, break away from The Franchise after feeling Shane poorly managed him at the time. This has even happened to Shane Douglas during his days back in WCW and ECW; however, what these clients misinterpret is Shane Douglas’ philosophy as a manager. He will break you down to the bone and then rebuild you into a new and better machine. With that comes great risk though, but late Chris Candido and Bam Bam Bigelow took the risk in the early 90’s and it did wonders for them. Are The Naturals willing to risk their careers?
After not being given permission to play with Brother Runt, Abyss will go through what is called, “Short trip, bad landing” – an overdose of The Raven Effect next week on “iMPACT!” when the two lock up in a Hangman Horror’s Match. The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Raven stated that he started his dysfunctional family back in 1995, but among those family members he always favored was the runt of the litter and that’s who he still favors today. The bout will be chaotic and violent, with the winner declared after he chokes out his opponent!
Our “iMPACT!” main event this week featured two former NWA World Heavyweight Champions locking it up one-on-one for the very first time when Christian Cage took on Ron “The Truth” Killings. Truth showed great emotion in this battle, to the point of not releasing a hold when supposed to, and that’s when a referee gets involved. Christian Cage did it to himself though; he’s a marked man for selfishly betraying Sting three weeks ago at Hard Justice. Christian is in a very immutable state of mind right now though, so he wasn’t going to back down from anyone. He turned the tables in the match when he hit an inverted DDT from the top rope, then followed with a mockery in taunts. Ultimately, Christian Cage would prove to still be a true competitor when he defeated Ron Killings with his patented Unprettier.
After the bout though, Christian was going to continue hitting new lows when he attempted to hit the one-man conchairto, but it was to no avail when Rhino made the save. Cage ran like a little girl as Rhino had stated. Rhino also mentioned that their ten-year friendship was gone – he wants him at No Surrender one-on-one. Will Christian Cage answer the call?
The results were in and Jeff Jarrett was indeed guilty as charged for partnering up with Larry Zbyszko in determining when he can win and retain championship, upon getting the matches he wanted signed. The two worked together on everything to ensure dominance over TNA. Not no more though, because Cornette is in charge! What we did learn though was that Jeff Jarrett was telling the truth when he said he had no knowledge of the conspiracy at Slammiversary and the incident with Christian Cage and Sting at Hard Justice. However, the Larry Z issue was big enough in prompting management director Jim Cornette to sign Jarrett to a match at No Surrender. On that night, the fans will be getting their revenge, as they will be serving as the enforcers with leather straps in hand for this Fan’s Revenge Lumberjack Match. But that’s not all; the NWA World Heavyweight Champion’s opponent will be the undefeated “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe!
We’ll see you next week on “iMPACT!” as we continue the road to No Surrender on September 24, 2006 for the first ever tag team Ultimate X Match. Then we head off to Detroit, Michigan at the Compuware Arena for Bound For Glory on October 23, 2006 for the “Title vs. Career” bout featuring NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting!
