A normal MPEG-4 receiver is good enough, don't worry.

Most Freesat Hd boxes work fine. Most though are manual tune only ie type in frequency symbol rate etc if you are attempting to add extra channels not on freesat in the uk for eg (no blind scan) and most certainly for other satellites. All work with s2,8psk etc also, just alot of time on mine spent manually tuning, especially when alot of transmissions change frequencies ie move to another transponder or the symbol rate changes. Unfortunately you will have to manually update when necessary. Good luck
