Jadu adds Twitter management module

UK-based web content management provider Jadu has added an integrated Twitter module to its web CMS.

Jadu CMS Client for Twitter is designed to help organisations and businesses make the most of the micro-blogging phenomenon.

Jadu users can now use Twitter to improve brand management, customer service, and knowledge management.

The Twitter module is available as a free upgrade for Jadu users, and is aimed at local authorities, universities, and businesses.

One in five local authorities already use Twitter, whilst a recent survey by O2 found that 700,000 small businesses currently use the micro-blogging platform.

Suraj Kika, Jadu chief executive, said: “Twitter is currently growing at over 1,300% in popularity - which is incredible.

“So we’re excited to be able to offer organisations the ability to incorporate it within their social media and communications strategy.”

Functions on the Jadu Twitter module include storage - useful for freedom of information requests, and an ‘attitudes filter’ that allows firms to track how people view their brand by monitoring positive and negative tweets.

Kika added: “It’s essential that businesses are reactive to the conversations generated on social networks.”

Elizabeth Thatcher, communications manager at Lichfield District Council, agrees: “Twitter is an ideal platform for sharing information with local people easily and quickly.

“It’s also a great way to start local conversations and debates about hot topics. At Lichfield we are really passionate about using Twitter to tell local people about news ranging from new planning applications, to recycling.

“This winter Twitter proved invaluable in spreading the message about delayed bin collections as a result of the heavy snowfall.”
