Google launches profiles
Apparently some people like to Google their own names, but what happens if the searcher does not like what they find?
This can be a bit worrying, especially as future employers tend to search for information on potential employees.
Google has now got two tools that have been specifically designed to help make it easier for users to find information or images.
Google News Timeline and Image Search are developed through the Google Labs and could save some very red faces.
All users without a profile have to do is search for themselves and then follow the instructions that appear at the top of the page.
They will then have a Google profile in a couple of minutes which will appear when anyone searches for their name.
They can change the profile to suit how they want it to look, and to link with social networking sites.
