Wapple Architect makes software work on any handset
Wapple this week announced the launch of mobile app and website developing tool, Wapple Architect.
Apps created using Wapple Architect will automatically work on any phone.
Meanwhile, websites built using Wapple Architect will automatically adapt for mobile use when accessed from a mobile handset.
Wapple believes that Architect will enable developers and content providers to increase revenue streams by offering apps for more devices.
Richard Holdsworth, Wapple CTO, said: “Developers have been faced with the impossible task of supporting more than 50,000 device and software variants.
“The result is that many have either relied upon crude transcoding to deliver very basic content or spent months developing different sites for the varying phones.
“With Wapple Architect, developers simply describe their content in WAPL (Wapple Application Programming Language) once and let Wapple’s mobile device capabilities automatically optimise and deliver it to any mobile device – from the latest smartphone, such as the G1, or games console to first generation handsets.”
With 100 new mobile devices released every month, the need for cross-platform mobile apps is greater than ever.
