There are two different methods for flashing new firmware to the DM920
UltraHD, via browser or telnet / putty.
To put the DM920 UltraHD into recuse mode proceed as follows:
Browser method
1. Download and extract your image of choice.
2. Power off receiver via the rocker swith on the rear panel.
3. Power on receiver, within 0.5 of a second you must press and hold the
power button on the front panel.
You will see a sequence of colours blinking on the power button. Blue, purple
then red, then a constant blinking blue.
Release the power button when it starts to blink blue.
If you don`t see a sequence of colours blinking on the power button you
have pressed it too quickly.
Power on the receiver, with the same hand hold the power button on the
front panel.
4.Type the ip address of the DM920 UltraHD into a browser and press enter.

@sarfraaz184,

You can try out telnet console if ftp does not work.

Give this command on telnet console;
Code:
update-rescue -v

Dreambox will connect to dreambox update site.

on off touch button(sensor) broken box assumes you’re touching continuously and startup in rescue mode is initiated, needs sensor replacement

I have figured out the problem somehow. It is a hardware problem. I had a hunch that there is something wrong with the front touch button. I removed the front panel (from strip) and DM920 booted normally. Then I swapped front panel of a my another Dm900 with my DM920, and 920 booted normally. Then I tried to install DM920’s front panel to DM900. When I powered on the DM900, it went into recovery mode. Thus concluding my discovery that front panel/power-on button is faulty of my DM920.
Can someone help me that should I disconnect the front touch button somehow or change the front board altogether
