There is Fedora Core 6 Test2 has been released
The Fedora Project announces the second release of the Fedora Core 6 development cycle, available for the i386, x86_64, and ppc/ppc64 architectures, including Intel based Macintosh computers. Beware that Test releases are recommended only for Linux experts/enthusiasts or for the technology evaluation, as many parts are likely to be broken and the rate of change is rapid.

Small Linux - 50MB LiveCD

Go on - give it a try!!!

If you want a quick taste of LINUX- try this

DSL (Damn Small Linux)

50MB download - runs directly from a CDROM - just burn the ISO. - Also has the programs included featured in the screenshots

Boot up via CDROM, then when you get to the BOOT screen you have options to press F2 or F3, ignore these for the time being and just press ENTER to login to your new desktop.

Available here:

h**p://www.damnsmalllinux.org/download.html

Please bear in mind that this comes in different installations eg

There are currently four types of DSL....

dsl-<version>.iso: the standard isolinux version, which is used for liveCD,
frugal, or traditional harddrive install.

dsl-<version>-syslinux.iso: boots using syslinux instead of isolinux,
used for some very old hardware that is no longer supported by isolinux.
Use syslinux version if booting fails with the standard iso.

dsl-<version>-embedded.zip: comes with qemu, for running inside of a host
Windows or Linux system.

dsl-<version>-vmx.zip: a virtual machine that will run in VMware or
VMware player.
