That may not be possible because your USB drive will be formatted to ext3 windows will not recognize that. There are way but none are reliable.
Install this on your PC

This program will allow you to view ext3 on a windows pc but im not sure if it will read a hard drive on a usb port.
You can of course FTP into the movie folder with the usb drive still on your DM and ftp the recording back to your PC then play it.
