Sure, if he didnt set the IP with JapharFlasher/DreamUp, as it could fake it using a wrong IP not assigned by the router (often reason of the crc error as it cannot connect to IP address that is wrong in network).

Bad CRC is error on DreamUp/Japharflasher, not WebIf installation.

Ive instructed him to try browser flashing, there is no reason why he can not, he has the IP. No need for japhar or any other form of dreamup he is complicating things doing so.

Ok, just then be sure his IP address is correct in the network (compatible), and perhaps a reboot of the router could help.

Some routers also block each component in the network from connecting to other devices in the network.
