Rally car driver Greg Tracy and stuntman Tanner Foust raced through a 66ft tall loop at the X Games extreme sports event in Los Angeles.

The fearless pair reached speeds of 53mph spinning around the 360 degree double loop based on the orange plastic toy set.

Foust said he experienced about 7Gs of g-force during the stunt and needed to make grunting noises to stop himself blacking out.

And Tracy added: "I tell you what, I'm at a loss for words. That was absolutely the coolest thing I've ever done.

"'It was a handful trying to land it and get it slowed down. I knew Tanner was right behind me and I was just hoping we weren't going to tangle before we got to the end."

The previous world record was set last September of 2011 by Chinese driver Li Yatao who made a 42ft loop in a Lotus 5 Sportback in Shanghai.
