You can't determine that before decryption.
If there were a way, would be possible to code the program to switch automatically.

Default Need a refresher course for PV keys

Many pages in this section. I need help.

In the USA recently many channels are moving to other satellites.
Satellites are being decomissioned.
I am using The Last Drakkar and PVHE 2.1.1 to get keys from EMM files. The EMM's are coming from my Edision Os Mio 4K receiver.
And it has dvbsnoop installed on it.

I have a file that I collected around 50,000 EMM's from.
PVHE has been running for 12 hours now and only 7 found packets are displayed. But the channel cleared when it was on the previous satellite. I didn't have a UA key for that channel.

As this thread is many years old, it is difficult to read specific instructions as if there is a more modern way to get PV keys.

Could someone please help and let me know if there is a better way for me to produce keys using my satellite receiver?
Will I actually have better results if I buy a DVB card for my PC?

Also, where do newer keys posted come from? What method is used?

I'm very interested in learning. It is more fun than tedious for me.

Maybe a new PowerVu Chat for 2019?

@ArloG
If channels are moving with same encryption then edit satellite's name & location .

Yes. I have done that. Posts in other places say that keys change when the channels are moved.

But to get new keys? Reading tells me with new hash modes being used that PVHE will no longer work.

I have run PVHE for 24 hours now and no keys are being found from the EMM file. Also I notice that EMM's grabbed with the last drakkar in log mode are very slow. So something has drastcally changed. Just false positive keys and found packets.

But any assistance for a new method would be very helpful.
