Nice one (that I only found with your help, my friend)

Short riddle:

The searched word consists of five letters.
If you remove four ending letters, it is still pronounced the same as before.
What word?

Oh no, you are too humble, shishmish. Your English is well enough.
My question must have been not clear enough, my friend, because your answer is far away from result.

when you speak your letter,
w ( double u ),
it sounds much different from
wobbly ( uobly )

Just think of only one letter from alphabet A - Z.
When you speak it, this single letter alone must sound the same as a whole five-letter-word 12345 starting with the same letter.

Hint: It´s not letter B - so I take this letter for example:

when you speak it,
B
( be )
must sound the same as the word
B2345 ( be )

------------------------------------------------------
25 letters to choose from: A2345, C2345, D2345 ... Z2345

When waiting for a bus in England
(perhaps not any more today, but at good old times),
people were standing in a 12345.

1 is the name of James Bond´s scientist (the old guy who provides him with gimmicks)
