Vantage 8000 HD Recording format

HD channels can be of any form,as long as it comply with HD specs.
Can be mpeg 2 or mpeg4 or whatever the uplinker desire to use,since the being mpeg 2 or 4 doesn't determine if it is an HD feed or not.
Now,I think you want to know how does the vantage record channels.
It record in its original form,if the channel is mpeg 4 ,that's how it will record.
There is no encoding performed,it records as it comes down from the satellite.
