Formula 1 will not be racing at the Australian Grand Prix this weekend in the wake of a McLaren team member contracting coronavirus, according to reports.

It is understood that the majority of teams decided against racing at Albert Park during talks held on Thursday night.

F1 and the FIA are expected to formally announce the move, although the Australian Grand Prix Corporation reacted with a statement following the McLaren news, revealing eight F1 personnel had been tested.

There is no news yet on whether the Supercars event will go ahead but a meeting is expected to take place this morning to determine the fate of the weekend.

McLaren confirmed earlier on Thursday that they were withdrawing from the weekend after a team member had tested positive for coronavirus.
