Default optibox spider rescan

Half my channels list show no signal on 28e can I just scan each channel seperately or do I do a full rescan. The list of channels are the ones from the supplyer who I bought it off . In the old days I would do a rescan but this would find channels that were no good to me. Trying not to over load the memory of the box Any help gratefully received. Thanks mostyn
