USB Hardisk not working

Hallo, I would like to ask if anybody has similar problem with external HDD. My external 2.5" USB hardisk does not spin, I can use flash cards only. I contacted reseller who told me I have to use external power source for external HDD. I am confused now, in manufacturer manual there is nothing mentioned about using external power supply for external USB HDD. I have tried couple of USB drives with diferent capacity with the same negative result. So, what is your experience?

you can use HDD´s without ext. power supply.

I use my HDD with an y-usb-cable and it works fine

or you can use a REALLY short usb cable, like the ones WD passports have. Sometimes, it works properly!

Thank guys, my reseller is keeping telling me that I must use external power supply for external 2.5" USB HDD. So, it is exactly what I need it to hear from you. I will contact support@duolabs and hang their reply up here.

j'ai le meme probleme avec mon QBoxHD
les port usb ne fonction pas mon QBoxHD ne boot pas sur usb
