Wimbledon organisers scrapped the grasscourt Grand Slam for the first time since World War II as the coronavirus wreaks havoc on the sporting calendar. The cancellation of the only grasscourt major at the All England Club leaves the season in disarray, with no tennis due to be played until mid-July.
"Devastated," tweeted eight-time champion Roger Federer.
Wimbledon was due to run for two weeks from 29 June, with Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep set to defend their singles titles.
But tournament chiefs bowed to the inevitable on Wednesday, saying in a statement that they had made the decision with "great regret".

World Snooker Championships are postponed ,
Grand National Horse racing cancelled
All minor and major sports Events all cancelled or postponed
Wimbledon is highly unlikely to go ahead with new UK Cases Covid-19 coming thick and fast daily .
+62,779 new cases today and 921,098 Active cases world wide i would estimate at least one million active cases by tomorrow morning or sooner as this can and will multiply at a very serious rate

CoronaVirus [ a.k.a ] Covid-19 is out of control already its anyone's guess if we'll ever be seeing any sort of live sports again definite not in the near future that is for sure , and if sport events do start up again it'll be again closed stadiums and empty arena's for everyone's safety no doubt at all .
